I wont do those white demons, they are loud and naughty forms of geese. Will stick with my slow, calm, large and curly gentle geese

I can pick up and hold even our 3 year old almost 30lb dewlap gander with no struggle and no biting.

Yes they are naughty a lot of the time, but I got them for weeding the gardens. Between them and the khaki Campbell's I don't have to use chemicals for weeds or bugs. Actually got them both eating broadleaf things too. I start them when they are little so they get a taste for it.

It's cute because they go sit in the last area their house was before we pulled it out for the winter. They know they have jobs to do! Of course you have to fence them away from things like corn, peas, lettuce or strawberries. Their pool water is great liquid fertilizer though.

My hubby and son like to chase George down and love on him. He hates it! He is a sassy goose.

COF I thought you culled your whole flock of guinea?

My hubby is really liking the guinea. He has not had a tick yet. I might need to set more eggs soon.
We rehomed most of them, and moved the others to the goat paddock and clipped wings so they cant leave the area. The goats love it as they are good bug control. So we have FW Muscovy and guinea mafia with the goats and all seem happy together.

Quote: yeah I get the same benefits from our three breeds without the sass or worry of my two year old moving around them.

Morning all! Lots of beautiful sunshine today. It's day two of my new "get in shape" program. I don't need to lose any weight, but I would like to feel like I can run around and work all day in the yard without being exhausted and out of breath. I found an app that promises to take me from couch potato to 5K runner in eight weeks. I did the first workout yesterday. What an eye-opener! It was supposed to be 30 second of jogging alternating with a minute and a half of walking. I couldn't even jog for 30 seconds straight! I'm thinking it will take me a bit longer than the 8 weeks, since I'm going to stay with workout 1 until I can actually do it. Then I've got coursework due for my hort classes and chickens to shuffle around. Not to mention soccer and kids activities all afternoon/evening. But first, I'm enjoying my morning tea.

I have a bantam chocolate orp hatching...got it as a replacement on other eggs I swapped for, I hope the other hatches, so there will at least be two

and its out...cute little bugger!

I have 16 bouncing. baby sermas from MrsMoonCat!!!  I think that batch was out of a total of 18 eggs  !!

That's an awesome hatch! Way to go!

goose love is hard to get over I tell you. I have said it before and will say it again. Everyone should be owned by geese (ducks too)

We have our first 100% keeper here from this year. He is a grey dewlap named Emeris. Emris happens to be Merlins other name lol

I have a goose egg going right now, unfortunatly it looks the the second isn't going to go. I suspect I will have a very attached little gosling.
