Oh I see. Sorry, misunderstood that. Yeah, I spend way more money on chickens than I ever intend. It is an addiction, I'm telling you. lol...
 
Thank you, coldupnorth! (love the username! I used to be in Berlin NH, which is near the northern foot of Mt. Washington at 2000 feet -- BRRRR!) I'm gonna have to do a little research

I built a little eeny one that would only hold a dozen eggs. So far hatch rate has been 100%. Now working on a larger one that'll hold forty -- which had BETTER be all I hatch at any given time!!!
Although of course, there's always the wine refrigerator sitting in my kitchen collecting dust...

I tell ya, td, if I were on my own piece of land with the resources to do it, I'd be in serious trouble. As it is, my landlady LOVES chickens -- so my main limitations are barn space, how much feed I can afford to buy, and not letting the numbers get so out of control they piss off my landlady's husband... LOL!

I hope I can hatch out a couple of hens to go with my other pair of cream legbars. I have a pair of young adult cream legbars. The hen has not started laying yet. Also had a trio of 5 week old tolbunt 2 of them died last night and the other is not looking good. I may have to claim some of your tolbunt eggs to get me a pair or trio.

Was last night hard on everyone or what? I lost a black Breese and what I think was an Isbar. :(

I guess it just got too cold, but they had been out of the brooder over a week. I have a pair of rhodebars, a SFH, and a gold laced polish that are big enough to go outside but now I am afraid to make the move. :/
