Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

Some century in my fantasy-future, I'm going to have a three-acre pasture divided up into quarter-acre pens for each breed I want... Yeah. LOL!

I do have the space for pretty good-sized separate runs, luckily. I see a lot of fence-building in my near future! Right now, with only the one main flock, they spend most of their time outside and have a 15x25 run for when I can't leave them out.

Anyone up for a side Swap??? I had someone cancel an order of Basque eggs that were supposed to go out today. I have 8 eggs available.

I can't take any eggs til next Jan or later but can ship these today

Yeah, they're my "Whee! I've got a nearby hatchery! Let's get two of EVERYTHING!" flock. Eating eggs only But they're a very colorful motley crew!

And I wanted to get a sense of a bunch of different breeds, then decide which ones I want to focus on. The hatchery stock was an inexpensive and convenient way of getting at least an introduction to the general characteristics of a variety of breeds. But yeah, not the quality of bird I want to breed and sell.

I completely understand......I'm sure we all do. Its not a bad idea to have "practice" birds and then go from there.

I'm glad I did. It really built my confidence level, let me discover the flaws in my housing (MUD!!! -- bad drainage), learn about some of the various pests and diseases they can be prone to... I'm ready to graduate up a level. And learn how much I don't know yet all over again!
