I love willows. I will have another one day. Will just have to wait until we move.

On our vacations, we usually always go to the north ga mtns/ nc border. I always see weeping willows, and the most beautiful weeping cherry trees along with the dogwood trees. I am sooo hoping the weeping cherry tree will grow here.

Those are pretty too. I just like the weeping type trees.

I am excited because the Arbor day society should be sending me 10 trees in the next month. We live on ten acres, and mOre then half are oak woods, which are beautiful, but I would love to have some diversity, and maybe some flowering trees, which I think the ADS promised

Instead of adding pictures of my breeding stock to the thread, I thought I would just direct you all to my website where I have loads of pictures. All the chickens I offered eggs from are already laying, except my 7 month old Double Laced Blue Barnies. They should start laying any day.

I am getting some too! That is too funny! I am pretty sure they had dogwood, umm errr I can't believe I can't remember. Supposed to be getting some crepe myrtles too.

I was going to ask you if you ever go to Cross City to a little restaurant there that has a seafood buffet on Fridays....the name of the place left me.

Here is a picture.  This chicken was born in the middle of August.  I did not hatch it out.  When it was a chick, it looked similar to the ss, but I immediately saw a difference when it began to feather out.

She's so pretty. I can't wait to get some of my own (and some rhodebars?)...maybe I'll get some from overoberyl this spring. Please post pix of her eggs when she starts laying.

It was a sad day here. We had to cut down my weeping Willow tree. The roots were diseases with crown gall. Couldn't treat it since this tree sits in the middle of 3 pens. So we cut it down.

On a good note, that mean the silkie pen can now be expanded. There is always some good that comes out of the bad. At least that's how I see it.

So sorry about your willow - they are such beautiful trees. We spent the weekend cutting up my favorite huge red maple. It had fallen during the floods in June, but the roots were still attached to the ground and it was alive, but we couldn't leave it laying across the ground. Guess the silver lining to that is now we can probably get some grass to grow there.

No, I've never been to cross city. Have you ever been to Yankeetown? Just west of inglis. My husband is the chef at Ikes Restuarant. We are both chefs (or I was until I chose to be a SAH mom ) and it's hard to find a good restaurant to work for around here. We don't eat seafood (I know, it's ridiculous to live so close to so much fresh seafood and not enjoy it!) but we sure do appreciate a restaurant for doing it right!
