Yeah, crab myrtles and dogwoods and the only two I remember!
No, I've never been to cross city. Have you ever been to Yankeetown? Just west of inglis. My husband is the chef at Ikes Restuarant. We are both chefs (or I was until I chose to be a SAH mom
) and it's hard to find a good restaurant to work for around here. We don't eat seafood (I know, it's ridiculous to live so close to so much fresh seafood and not enjoy it!) but we sure do appreciate a restaurant for doing it right!
Yes, that's the one. I am actually going there on Saturday for the first time. They have having a seafood festival in Yankeetown. I am torn between going, and the swap in dunnelleon... Choices choices haha

I was chained to my desk today and am trying to catch up on my threads now. I'm having withdrawals!
Since everyone is posting photos, I thought I'd mention that I have a few on my profile page under my albums. I really need to update them soon. My bantam Cochin girls and my sole remaining Olandsk Dwarf pullet started laying last week. I'm dying to set some, but my incubator is full....AND the Cochins and ODs are all running together. I'm sure they'd be cute little mixes though lol!
Just curious if any of you are very familiar with genetics regarding pattern. My bantam Cochins were hatched from eggs from Lucky Pickens here on BYC. I have 2 gorgeous mottled boys that are almost identical....I'll be keeping one for sure. The only 2 girls I kept are a calico patterned girl that came from her blue mottled project pen and a silver laced girl with really good type but who has a few feathers with incomplete lacing. I am thinking the mottled boy and calico girl would produce some nice mottled chicks, but I'm clueless about the combination of the mottled boy with the silver-laced girl. Any guesses? I do have a silver-laced cockerel, but I'm on the fence about keeping him. I have WAY too many boys!
These pics are about a month old and taken with my phone...
mottled boy - he is very wide and is really filling out now

I have eggs from lucky pickens in my incubator now. I have 23 developing! I did not get any silver laced though! She is beautiful, I may need to get a few
Just picked these guys up yesterday! My new Plymouth Rock flock
Three barred pullets and two blue with dark lacing, and of course the roo. The blues aren't completely integrated yet so I have to keep an eye on them, but hopefully they will be ok. You can't really tell in the pics but the roo is humongous!

Oooo...which ones did you get? I hatched out 7 chicks and 6 of them have very good type. I have one that looks nothing like the others...poor type and pattern (he's even missing a couple of toenails lol). I'm not really sure what to do with him. We've been processing our large fowl, but I'm having a hard time thinking about eating the little guys. :/
I'd love to know what you hatch out from her...post pics please!
CJ...some of the eggs I received from you have a nice green color, but at least 3 are a beautiful sky blue! My kids really liked the contrast in the colors!
