Wow! That was fast!!!
Have 3 new chickies from swap eggs..
The chick on the left is an Icelandic egg from Debs_Flock the one on the right is a white leghorn from DMRippy. The little islandic got cemented into its egg and is a mess, she hatched this morning and didn't. I have my work cut out for me cleaning her up and because of the hatching troubles she has curled toes. But she is very alert and her legs look good.
This is a Maran from DMRippy has a white underbelly and is super cute.
This is from my Spitzhauben pullet. She laid her very first egg when I was setting these eggs and for fun through it in the incubator. She should be the ugliest chicken known to man being that she is covered by an EE rooster but is solid grey fluff and tiny put so spunky and jumps all over the white leghorn
Exhibit 1 her jumping on the leghorn
I am sure this leghorn weighs twice what my mutt chicken weighs
Can't wait till the hatch it done so I can take them out of the incubator and get good pictures!!!!
The miracle of this hatch is that I set the eggs right before going out of town so my DH was going to have to move them into my home made incubator while another set of eggs hatched in my genesis. Even though I tried to tell him that my homemade incubator is very temperamental he didn't listen, first the temp spiked and went up to 106, then it crashed ... twice ... and went to the low 80's! I didn't think there was a chance I would get any eggs but I was happy to see life when I returned home and candled. The good news besides getting these cute babies is that he bought me a second genesis to use as a hatcher....it isn't a Dickey but I can't complain since now I have 3 incubators![]()
