A big thank you to Laurie for my secret santa package. It was a wonderful ending to a perfectly rotten day. Everyone is so wonderful on here, it is awesome to have met so many great "chicken" people!!

Awww... I am sorry you had a rotten day.

My eldest son (4) has developed croup, which my youngest had last month. I get seriously anxious when my kids get sick... So I have been running on very little sleep and worrying myself sick. I have been ignoring my anxieties by researching new things on here. It's been very helpful

It seems a lot of people on the thread is either ill, or dealing with illness in the home. I teach 5th grade and have not had a full class in 3 weeks. They finally "shared" with me just before the holiday. The cough in horrendous and now I have no voice. The only good point is that I have been able to follow everyone online, all day. It is nice to be in tough with so many like minded people.

^^ I understand this.
Neither of my kids had be sick more the twice since they where born, as soon as my son started pre k in August, everyone has been sick!!!
I mean no disrespect to other parents that may have to do this- but it is so frustrating to know that kids still go to school sick. On Halloween, they had a special parents come in time. When I got there, the kids where all lined up, and one of the girls was crying about her mom... The teacher told her mom was coming soon, then the girl threw up all over the place. It was obvious to me the girl was sick, and should have been home, or at the very least separated from the other kids since my sons teacher knew she was sick!

It's nice to be able to talk to people without getting another illness

It is more often than not a parent will give their children medication at home that will "mask" illness and send them to school. Many do so because they have to work and have no one to take care of the children. Often, the medication wares off and they have to go home anyway and have "shared" with the entire class. There are those, however, who just "get sick" after reaching school. Either way, everyone has been exposed. That being said, you can catch illnesses just being at church or the grocery store. It's no fun no matter where it comes from.....
