Hubby left me alone yesterday and I bought at least 7 dozen eggs. Good thing I bought the new bator!! Came to work today with little or no voice due to cold. Teaching fifth grade with out a voice is like trying to round up cats. (or Roosters)

Wow!!! My hubby would KILL me. However, I have almost convinced him to make me a wooden cabinet incubator. Then I have to use it, right? Our neighbor has a really nice home made one that he told me to come get this week for DH to use as a pattern for one. It is two shelves plus the hatching tray.

Teaching is very difficult without a voice. I always hated that once or twice a year that I would lose my voice. First graders are not much different that those cats (or Roosters) either.

Why can't MY husband be this way??!! Doesn't he realize that if I am happy with a hobby, everyone in the house will be happier? I mean, really! He is such a grouch about chickens!!

My DH is all hot air when it comes to grumping about the chickens... He SAYS he isn't a fan, but I've seen him out there giving them treats and watching chicken TV, haha.... He has actually commented that he didn't believe me when I would tell him that chickens really do have their own personalities, until we got some, and he has a few faves himself.... mind you, when I gave him an estimate on how many spring eggs I'll be hatching, he did have a bit of a freak out, but our chickenstock is in May, so I'll be able to sell most of the extras there, problem solved and feed paid for!!

Mine doesn't even bother to say anything anymore, even goes and gets the feed without complaints. He loves the ducks. But hates my geese. The only thing he has asked is that if I end up getting sheep, could I please get rid of the geese? Since he has spent all of his off time building my chicken pen, putting up fence, etc. i guess I can sell my geese. Anyone want any toulose dewlap geese???

Geese are the one thing I couldn't bring myself to have...I have memories of being terrorized by some very aggressive ones as a child on my aunt's farm...I don't blame him
