Hatching eggs

where can I find a picture of what a pheasant egg looks like, we have a young female Red Golden pheasant and I just found an egg this morning in the pen- it was smashed but the shell is a light tan. What type of nest box should we provide her? She is in our aviary with our peafowl. The male Red Golden escaped on us about 1 month ago and the replacement male is in quarantine yet. Thanks

Red Golden eggs are a light tan in color. I use milk crates for nest boxes with a little straw in each, but any type box of the same demensions will do. Most yearing hens will just lay on the ground and don't care if they have a nest available or not. I have my Goldens in pens of 6 hens and 1 male and never have I had a broken egg. I think you can blame that on your peacock.

okay thanks, we have some milk crates around that can be used. Is the milk crate set on its side to provide a roof type feeling similar to a chicken nesting box?
