I think you should just take them off. They might cause more harm than good
I know that if it is to be corrected it has to be done fast. I have been watching videos of full grown chickens with the same problem. All of them constantly pant and drag themselves around. I'll cull before I let that happen. They look and act miserable. I see this as an attempt to avoid culling..
 
I'm keeping a super close eye on her. She couldn't even walk before so I see improvement either way.. Just so long as she isn't dragging herself around..
 
So I can say 100% success.. The assisted baby now has straight toes and is beboppin with the rest of them!! 7 set and 7 chicks!!

I left 2 booties on for about 4 hours. She stopped walking so I did a re-check and one foot was ok.. I left her be for a few hours then I recast the other one through the day and left it untill morning. In all about 19 hours..
