Hatching emergency

I am pretty sure the new baby has crooked toes.. I bet it happened sitting in the shell in one position for so long.. I've never made a chick booty before.. I'm a little nervous. What if I don't set them right?? Well here's to first times...

Give it a few hours, at least, before attempting to correct.

I let her set all night before I bootied her.. The other chicks were picking on her so I put her and the other smallest chick back in the incubator. (It's the only temperature controlled space I have.) Do you know the least amount of time those booties can be on?? There is no space for food or water in the incubator..

I don't think she needs them. They will straighten out. It sometimes takes a few days for them to go back naturally

How long have they been on? I would take them off.

How many chicks total?
Can you split the brooder with a wire wall?

Did I do ok?? I'm so nervous and she is still having a hard time walking.. She keeps tripping on her own booties..

She is walking though.. That's more than I could say before.. I could. I need to find another heat lamp. They are in a big brooder. The temp difference from one side to the other is huge. 7 chicks all together..

I think you should just take them off. They might cause more harm than good
