Hi,
I'm just adding my two cents here about hatching goose eggs. I've only hatched two at a time so far. I'm on my third set of two right now. I turn them three times a day, but have never taken them out to cool and have never misted them. I have a Brinsea incubator and I asked them about the cooling and misting. They told me it didn't really help, but didn't hurt either. I keep my incubator at 99.6 degrees and keep the humidity at 60% for the first 18 days and 70% during the lockdown. The folks at Brinsea recommended those humidity levels too. So far, I've hatched four healthy Chinese Swan Geese and #5 and 6 are due to hatch this weekend. I'm definitely a newbie, that's pretty much everything I know about hatching geese : )

I have 4 in my Brinsea and Im sure you could probably got 8 in there but when you have the Hyg/temp thingy in there, then I put my water bowl and face cloth in there for lockdown...you wouldnt have room for all that too. Im glad I only ordered 4 and not the 6 she offered.

hi how many goose eggs can you fit in the brinsea. Does there turner work for goose eggs? thanks

I could get three or four in my mini, and I'm not sure how many I could get in my eco 20. It has dividers so that you can line chicken eggs up big end up. I can get 28 chicken eggs in there like that. And, the chicks hatch like that, no problem. I'm not sure if you could line goose eggs up like that. If so, you could probably get 10 - 15 in there.

Does anyone know if you can hatch goose eggs big end up? Or, do you have to keep them on thier side?

Nicky - Will they fit on their end? Big end up. You could use the rails to hold them in place. I think you've got about 4 inches of clearance in there. BTW, Those eggs are much bigger than my Chinese Swan Goose eggs : )

I lay everything on their sides, I dont set them pointy end down and only use the rails to separate them so they dont all roll into the middle, it seams to dip there.. I managed to squeeze 15 duck eggs in 2 months ago, 2 werent fertile so 13 hatched, it was a squeeze for them to hatch, the other eggs were stopping the ducklings from popping the tops off once they had zipped but they all hatched.
