Yeah!!! They're gorgeous!! Get some rest!! I work 12 nights and my daytime sleep is usually only 6 hours (between dropping kids off andpicking them up) so I understand tired!! Congrats!! Great pics!!

pete55 Well I have hatched out so far 14 of the 22 eggs in this batch. 2 more are zipping now. Nice pics pete there beautiful.

Crappity crap crap!! Just doing the daily turn on my toulouse eggs. This just completed day 2. Well I happened to remember that I never candled them when they got here so thought what the hay! EVERY CRAPPIN' AIRCELL IS LOOSE!! Aaagggghhhh!!!! The bix was in perfect condition! And eggs packed great! Is there any hope of saving? Here's hopin that the dewlaps that should arrive tomorrow fair better.

Buff beauty, I've had horrible luck with shipped eggs this year too. Someone posted this link and my last hatch (all with detached air cells) was five out of six. I started them off up right.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I will check it out. They have only been on the turner for 24 hours so I turned it off and set them upright at a slight angle and I was planning on leaving them like that for a few days. I think that 2-3 were detached and 1-2 were just loose. No "air bubbles". I got a shipment of 100% imported english orp eggs in today and in candling them to go into bator 5 of 15 were loose or detached. At least from what I could tell, some are pretty dark. Boy these geese and ducks make it easy to candle! I haven't bought shipped eggs in so long I forgot what a pain they were but I didnt remember having this much trouble!!

I'll check out the site and see what they suggest I do different. Thanks again! I'll let yall know how the others arrive tomorrow! Dang USPS!

Hi Pete,
Help, of batch 4's 6 Dewlap eggs, I've had 3 DIS, 2 have hatched and my last one has been trying to internally pip since Thursday, it's still trying, should I help it yet or is there still a chance he'll get through the membrane on his own?

It's been quite a night, I've had 4 Buff Orpingtons hatch as well, and my only female Norfolk Black Turkey went brood last night and I couldn't find her to lock her up, after searching for hours finally gave up and was in bed when I heard a scuffle and her call, I raced out in dressing gown to find a load of feathers, searched for ages and disturbed what I though was one of our wild ducks on our big pool, then I spotted some eyes and there was a badger on the far side of the pool, I chased it off and there was our turkey swimming around in the water, eventually coaxed her off and she has a huge flap of skin hanging off her chest, I wrapped her up in towels warmed her up and I've put her in a house on her own, I've not checked her yet for fear of what I'll find (and been sorting new arrivals) but I'm just off to do the deed, may then need medical advice on flaps of skin!!! Animals!!!!!
