Hatching Grocery store eggs attempt

I probably missed it, but how were you able to tell the eggs were fertile? I’ve read there’s eggs sold for eating specifically marked “fertile”, and then I’ve read of people getting fertile eggs for eating at Asian markets.

I also saw some mixed color eggs at Walmart the other day called “Carol’s Heritage Eggs”. Anyone have any experience with those?

Im really tempted to try some next spring!

Hopefully your next attempt goes better. I've personally been able to incubate a few fertile duck eggs. Although they have always managed to die right before they hatch

Long ago, many here were hatching Trader Joe's fertile eggs.
But they were clearly marked 'fertile' on the carton.

I've never heard of this! Grocery store eggs are usually not fertile and have also been refrigerated (which would kill any fertility if there was any), and they are weeks old already. Even those marked "fertile" have been in the fridge. How would anyone hatch them?

Well Ive hatched out refrigerated eggs from my chickens.

I just looked it up and I did not know this, but apparently there is a white color Marans. All you ever hear about are the cuckoo and the black copper.

Yep I have some white Marans

Dark yolks like this? Poke berries will make them dark, really dark.
