Hatching Grocery store eggs attempt

Lucky supermarket carries them. I’m going to try them next week.

Hope you have success. It's very challenging not really knowing the condition of an egg your about to incubate. You must have 20+ chickens by now?

Well.... we hatched 6 pullets and 14 cockerels this summer. One cockerel died as a chick, 12 became burritos, one is sticking around for a little while longer. Of the pullets, 3 are going to a new home in February. So we’ll be down to just 3 girls in about a month.

Must be. They have them at my Safeway, but not the one where I used to live.

Were those roosters from your SFH hatch? And what breed are you gonna keep?

Surprise, surprise, the two eggs that was left in the incubator made a chirp in the egg. Last of the SFH egg and the GLW x. The SFH egg hatched out this afternoon and is in the brooder now, I'm waiting on GLW x it pipped this afternoon.
If the GLW x hatches that would make my hatch 100%.

So I did a Google search to find out whether the Happy Egg Co could possibly have fertilized eggs and I came across the following response. I don't have Facebook and don't know how "accurate" this might be.... But if it is true, it would seem the Happy Egg experiment is doomed to failure. Good thing I also included eggs from my own girls....

Ah well.... not a total loss though — just means I move on to part 2 duck eggs sooner.

Oh, and today I found out we CAN buy balut at the Ranch 99 market in El Cerrito.
