How about these guages
Perfect....any will work as long as you calibrate them.

See this post: (It also has the easy directions on how to calibrate a humidity gauge)

Walmart sells cheap thermometers in the fish section.
Buy a few of them...they look like this: (If you calibrate one like this you can use it to verify a digital one)

I have the one on the right. It reads 92 laying in the clutch. I have a pool thermometer down by hp. I wanted to see if I could lay the eggs directly on the heating pad but it reads 105 directly on the heating pad and I have them raised off the heating pad and I just candled them and they seem to be fairing well. Idk why the temp quit staying at 99/100.

WOW you are trying to incubator them with just a heating pad?

Yup. All I have. I am disabled & an animal rescuer. That should explain my delima so far so good. If this doesn't work I will just start feeding my duck eggs to my rescue. Grest omega 3's

It can work if you have the time to babysit the bator a lot.
I hope it does work.

Another thing you can do is use a regular old lamp. Rig it to hover inside your baotr but you still have to play human thermostat and keep an eye on the temp to know when to turn the lamp on and off.

Reptile thermostats are good for when you need to use a lamp to keep the temperature steady. Just saying.

I actually have this exact one. I tried playing human thermostat for a while but I couldn't dedicate the time for doing it.

Being disabled allows me a lot of time to do this. Although today I did do three local transport for the dogs on my kill list in the county. And trust me that's 20 a week so we lose a lot we lost 75 in one day 2 weeks ago when they were killing in silence. But that's another story
