Hatching Q on mailed eggs - Ayam Cemani

Were these the eggs posted that were brown instead of tinted
Unfortunately, they all look like that. I opened one of each completely (one darker egg and one tinted), and they both look to have significant white feathering on the chest and wing tips...as well as pink/pale feet starting about halfway down the legs. Through the peep hole on the others, you can see white feathering. I'm stunned. I'm not sure what to think about these chicks, and I'm frustrated that I can't figure out what I did wrong with the hatch.

The babies have four total toes: three large and one small. =/

I have contacted the seller... waiting for a response. My argument was that the chicks do not appear to be pure bred Ayam Cemanis, which is what I paid for...according to the auction title as well as the conversation we head through messages on Ebay. =/ I asked for pure bred replacements or a refund.

Me too... =(

I didn't have any major plans for them or anything. I would have probably even overlooked a couple pink toes or even maybe a small splash of white somewhere... but there's too much white and pink... with such pink feet and large splashes of white, I would have had a hard time accepting them into my small collection as pure bred (and EXPENSIVE) Ayam Cemani >_>

I am so nervous about buying these eggs other than the farm in Indonesia, for the reason I may not get what i'm paying for. These are expensive and we should get what we pay for. I really hope that the person you got your eggs from makes it right!

I would highly encourage you to purchase Ayam Cemani eggs from an established member here on BYC. Maranfarmer536 (I hope this is okay to mention) sells Ayam Cemani eggs and does a wonderful job.

Just a follow-up with the "hybrids". Seller is refusing refund/replacement, arguing that even genuine Ayam Cemani can have pink legs/white marks. Hundreds of dollars spent on ...hybrids. The second wave of eggs from this seller is currently hatching. Black and white chicks. Pink legs... Not sure what to do with them. Granted, a white spot here and there or a pink toe or two is fine... but these look more like Black Copper Maran chicks. =/

Just be careful. You are right, these are very expensive eggs. They should hatch out at least 90 percent black...lol

I mailed 12 cemani eggs to Florida today. I think it is illegal to get eggs from Indonesia. Please don't waste your money buying from out of the country.

is illegal, I spoke with this farm when I first started researching eggs. They said they just mark your package collectibles (not eggs) so they can get through customs - tisk tisk. You also don't know what disease you may be bringing to the US or your flock.
