Okay so the baby chick hatched!!! Yipee.....I have another question. It's one foot is curled up. I can uncurl it but it goes right back to the original position. Should I put duct tape on the bottom of it to keep it straightened? At this point I don't want to do anything to hurt this little chick.

I've seen posts on that before too, but can't remember exactly. If it's the whole leg that kinda kicks out it would be splay leg. If you do a search on site for it you'll find directions for a band aid splint that seems to have good results. I know I've seen similar treatments for the curled toes as well. try doing a search fro chick with curled toes and I bet you find a treatment stratagy. Sorry I'm not more help on this one. I'm not even close to having chicks yet so my research hasn't gotten that far.​
