Hatching shipped eggs tips

I'm confused, who do you mean?
We had an eBay store account years ago. Almost everything breakable got broken from the USPS. We complained and a supervisor said they have a disgruntled employee problem and have spies in their mail rooms looking for employees intentionally damaging packages. He said if you stick a bunch of fragile stickers all over the box it might intice a postal worker to throw the box for kicks. We dropped USPS as an offered carrier and our products stopped becoming damaged over night. UPS seemed to take better care of our packages. WE DID NOT SELL EGGS. JUST GLASS COLLECTABLES. US Post office is good for letters, nothing else in my opinion. If you order eggs on line, request UPS as a delivery service if possible.

Very good to know! Thanks. Most automatically ship eggs USPS . Idk that I've gotten eggs UPS. Have u?

Are you in a small town? I would not be able to text my mail carrier. However, I pick up my boxes at the post office.

I have seen a person advertising eggs that is very suspicious (and obvious) to me. It says a breed and there are only chick pics, no adult birds. I sent a message asking about their adult birds. They stopped advertising those and started with another breed, only chick pics again.

I am in a small town! She helps me SO much when it comes to eggs! That is super suspicious. If it seems shady, it probably is!!

Yeah, I agree! I wanted to report it, but I couldn't find anywhere to report it. If there are no adults, there aren't eggs! I suspect the chick pics were from another person's site. I thought... if only to flag it as suspicious.

Or they don't meet/get close to the SOP for the breed. I used to get really worked up and challenged/reported people, but then I realized so many are just ignorant more than they are running a scam. My general rules of thumb are: If there are no parent stock photos or they can't spell the breed of chicken they raise, they're not for me!

Lol, I think shipping chicks is far worse! If eggs don't get here on time, or are dropped kicked, won't develop. I'm not looking at dead bodies.
True. But the hatch rate is my concern. Buy 20 eggs and only half could hatch. No guarantees the eggs are fertile. But live chicks were guaranteed or they would replace them. At least a few years back they would. Death is a possibility of any livestock. If you are going to raise poultry you have to except that possibility. Dogs and cats as well. chickens are a lot more fragile and fatality rates are higher on that end of the food chain. In the beginning when we lost a couple it was devastated. It Is still heartbreaking don't get me wrong. But reality sucks when you care for something or someone. We lost a 2 nanny goats and 1 doeling this last season. I had waterery eyes for a week. It's not easy but a life has a way of reminding you how fragile and short it can be.

That's my big pet peeve. The one that bothers me the absolute most is people saying they breed 'maran' or 'faverolle' chickens. No you don't, because there's no such thing. There are marans chickens and faverolles chickens than always have an 's' on the end of their name because they are named after the towns in France in which they originated.

I actually sell on eBay myself. Nothing fancy, just my frizzle eggs.

I like eBay! :) Just hatched out some adorable white polish chicks this weekend from a seller there. Mine is Crele. It's Crele. Not Creole... I mean, for heaven's sake. I just can't deal.
