Is there anything different that I should do to have a successful hatch with shipped eggs? I have never bought shipped eggs and I am kind of worrying about the hatch rates.

I dont want to lose a lot of money.

First thing 50% hatch will be good hatch....let egg set overnight large end up, so air cell will be in the proper location.

I like to said keep in mind , what you pay you will only get half the eggs, that are good.

The closer you can get them, the better. Especially now that it is getting warmer/hotter outside. When we buy eggs and have them shipped, we expect a 50% hatch MAX. Let's say you order 12 eggs. That means that you can expect a max of 6 to hatch - sometimes it's less and sometimes it's more.

The key is to unpack them and let them sit aircell up in an egg carton for 12 hours, or overnight. Since our mail comes here around 3 pm, I just let them sit overnight and put them in the incubator in the morning. This allows the egg to return to normal room temperature before putting them in the incubator.

Thanks! I probably will only order 4 silver pied eggs, then I get one extra. If I get one silver pied female out of the hatch I will be happy. I have looked all over for an adult silver pied hen but have been unsuccessful. Is $15 about the right price for a SP egg?
