Hatching with 2 broodies

Hello halfbakedtulip,

I think they will be fine. Is it a ramp with rungs for them to keep from sliding? If there are no stops I would take a 1x1 and cut stops or rungs if you will and go ahead and glue them on. They manage pretty well with that.

I didnt know that Frizzles needed their nails trimmed, I will have to check on Taffy's
Thanks for the info.
Marie
Thank you Marie! It does have rungs! I just have visions of them tumbling like a snowball down :p

Congratulations on your new peep

So two confirmed broodies...Beakface stole Sweet T's nest and eggs and I am having some of these shipped to me on Tuesday. http://www.papaspoultry.com/store/page6.html I know he packs well

for viable embryos. AT that point I will give the current eggs to T and the AM/EE eggs to BF.

The other girls are laying in the same box where T is sitting. Right next to her. She seems indifferent to the presence of the other eggs.

I found a new home for 3 of my girls who are slowing WAY down on production. One of my co workers is taking them to her parents who live on a small ranch. They will be pets and continue on as occasional egg producers... the 3 of them should give about 7 a week.

One of my Del babies had a bloody spot on its back so we treated it and all is well so far.

One of my bantam babies, the silver...who will be 5 weeks old tomorrow has a crest!!!! I love crests!! So excited to see how these turn out! Pics coming soon.

Fantastic news TG!! I Looooooove Ameraucanas er… EE or whatever you want to call them!! I can not wait to see what you get!! Sounds like things are gonna be awesome for you this summer!

BTW, this FF is a HUGE hit here! They want it all of the time. I fed them a good bit this morning and I think that kept them from foraging well. I think I may switch to feeding them only right before they go to roost, that way they are forced to go farther than ten feet from the feed trough! I really need to figure out just how much is enough. Looking at them today, I think I might need to boot the saddles and start buying them bras! Their crops were so full and they would run to me every time I went outside!

That is good! I only feed my girls 1 cups per 2 hens. I have like 7 hens and 20 pullets. 7 laying atm. And 13 roosters. They get 1 cup of corn for every 4 roosters/Cockrells. Morning and night.

Guess What!
We have two baby's they are so cute and lively will get some pics later but one looks kind of lavender greyish and the other more black but I will have to wait and see when the second baby drys of.
Take care
Ella :)
