Hathcing on the 7th and you? (Pics as it happens)

still doing good!!!!, just got back ...one of my RIRs...was seeping, so I took it out, decided to open it,...YUCK

it smelled bad!!! and the inside was all watery and black!!!! what a stink! Im glad I took it out....now have a total of one born...which Im calling BUFFY...OR BUFF *saying it manly*....

and 5 more eggs cracking its now 10am

It's not really easy. Some birds you can tell just by the wing feathers. But, you have to know exactly what breed you have, and what the traits are....

Easiest way (and it isn't foolproof) is to flip the bird over. Gently use a finger to pull the skin away from the vent, moving towards the belly. You have to be careful, or you can cuase the bird injury.

A female will have a dull pink flat spot. A male will have a shiny bump. Don't bet that you'll get it right every time, but it can give you a pretty good start.

I went home at and checked on the eggs, just the one that pipped and it's just sitting there! I hear a lot of cherping but non-pipping.

I guess they will make me wait until their due date, tommorrow before they start hatching out.

Waiting is half the game.
 
hey are we suppose to be feeding and watering them already???!!!! Just noticed you had water with yours...mine are still in the bator
