Well so far so good here, only one I had to throw away RIR, was seeping, broke it open, and it stunk bad!!! Had nothing but black water in it. So far no RIRs or Cuckoo Marans hatching. These eggs came from that broken shipment I rec'd.

Ok, have 5 Buffs now...2 in brooder are eating away like they are straving...3 in bator, wet...I did manage to catch one in the process of hatching...had camera handy so I caught each phase of it!!!

I know a lot can change in a short amount of time, but I'm tired of waiting. This is my 2nd hatch and I'm not a happy camper. Not one chicken eggs are doing anything. The phasent eggs are a bonus, but I have no plans to keep them.

I have a co-worker's mom that have a farm and that is where they are going. I got my eggs from her last time and had a 32% hatch rate, 28 went in and 9 came out.

Wow! at 00:17 I got my first loud clear cherping, three loud cherps.

Congrats ! Well, I have news, too!

This is the first time I have ever incubated. I got a couple dozen eggs at the "Farmer's Market," to use as test eggs. Then 48 hours later I added another dozen from a gal at work. I don't even know what I am hatching! RIR, and Astrolops are the only 2 names they gave me that they knew of.

At day 19 I heard a chirp... thought my imagination was playing tricks on me at first! Well, then I got a pip.

THEN, I had to go to work (evening shift).

I am home now. Guess what I have? YUP, I have a new baby chickeeeey. And now I have 7 pips.

Here is a (bad) photo. She is hiding in the corner fluffing up for her debut!

great post pretty eggs too. ive tried 3 pheasant eggs this year that were part of an assortment but none hatched. if you ever have any for sale let me know. i too use the shelf mesh. very handy stuff indeed. i have all my incubators and hatcher lined with it

I was due to hatch six test eggs on the 5th. One died on day 8 for unknown reasons. Another, I murdered, because I thought it was dead. It had what looked to me, like a bacterial ring, but turned out to be weirdly formed blood veins instead. Now, I'm past the due date, so I opened another to see what may have caused the late hatch, and the chick still had egg yolk not absorbed. I murdered one for the sake of education, I guess you could say! (why won't anyone do that with a bigfoot?) I have three test eggs left; all are past due and still alive. They are rocking, but nothing else.

I tried two identical therms; one was at 99.5 the whole time, but the other was about 89.5. Now I know which therm to use on my next batch. Humidity was not a problem. I have a turner and a fan in the bator.

I also have 18 other eggs, I purchased after the six showed signs of developing good, and all but one of those are thriving well. The other was clear, so not fertile.

Waiting to see what today is going to bring. The test eggs are from RIR hens and an EE rooster. My other eggs are due next Wed.

Also, I built a home-made bator my daughter is currenty using and they are due Sat. I'm really looking forward to her hatch, so I can see how the home-made bator is working! If it does good, I'll share my plans. It was really easy to build.

Morning all, be gone today...dr procedure...and then home drugged and in pain I guess not sure....woke up this a.m...had more hatched...have 6 buffs in brooder...2 more in bator....2 zipping, and I had my first one just now hatched...dark little baby...Im thinking Cuckoo Maran, but not sure...the other was RIR that needed to be hatched...this one is black and a tiny bit of white...so CM...has to be...today is my actual hatch day...so Im thinking most will pop today hopefully and finish by tomm....

gonna miss you all Hen master mail me, and keep me posted on your batch...nash had hers..mommi...I wanna hear from you all....good luck.
