"Have a blessed day"

Seriously people. There is so much hate and ill-will in the world. I really don't care what a person believes if they are being kind to me. So many people are just hateful. Why would someone wanting good thing for you be offensive? I'll take all the niceness I can get.

Sooooo... if you are Christian and want to pray for me or light a candle for me, please do. I can use the help.
If you are Jewish and wish to pray for me or bless me, please do. I am happy that you want to lift me up.
If you are pagan and wish to say blessed be, please do. I hope I am blessed.
If you are agnostic or atheist and wish me a good day, thanks. I hope it is a good day.
If you are muslim and wish me the blessings of the prophet, thanks. I appreciate your good will.

Life is too short to get bent out of shape about kindness. We are too often persecuted by mean people to turn away the kind people. We are too often sick in body and mind to turn away peaceful thoughts and hopes for our well-being. If it is meant in kindness I need it and want it. Kindness is in short supply.

That right there. And just because someone says "Have a blessed day" doesn't necessarily mean that they are christian. Pagans may also wish you a blessed day or bright blessings or tell you blessed be. It's just a wish that you have a great day and what's so wrong about that? I don't know a single pagan that would try to force their beliefs on anyone. To do so goes against the strong commitment to let others do "as ye will".

I think people who are offended by a caring and decent person wishing them a "blessed day" need to sit down and have a little conversation with themselves about what's important in life.

I am offended by the jerks who steal from us, by the ones who vandalized the neighbor's dairy next door. I am horrendously offended by the lunatic who brutally murdered his infant son in the middle of the road just a few roads over from us one night not so long ago. And the one who likes to get drunk and beat up on his wife.

There are a lot of things that are offensive in so many ways. I don't care if they say it from a religious perspective or not, a friendly person who smiles warmly and wishes good things and a better day for me is NOT one of them!
