"Have a blessed day"

I have a tom that needs a mate, too, HorseFeatherz. Mine's an Eastern Wild and I LOVE that goofy bird!

But...but...but...if they mate...they'll produce MORE TURKEYS!

I know, isn't it great!

OK, not if your Em.

Will the turkeys stay home? I can't have guineas because of the commercial chicken farm just south of us. If they wandered down there I would have heck to pay.

Do you have to worry about...what's it called?....blackhead? with turkeys around chickens?

I let my boy out to free range and he WILL take a HUGE flight, but he always comes back-this is where his home, his house and his friends are so I can leave him out for hours.
Blackhead...probably no more so than anything else, Kat. I do house my turkey away from all of the chickens except 1-his packing peanut brother that is a Cornish crossed with a RIR rooster. They are both SO confused!

Tykee thinks he/she/? is a chicken. He was hatch with a mixed clutch - orpington chick and two mille fleur cochin chicks.

He does fly, but about a month ago he flew into the backyard, behind the house. Could not see "his flock" but did see some other MF cochins back there. I found him crying by the other MFs and trying to stay away from the larger Orpington birds.

Since then, he has not left the front yard, which is defined by a 3 foot fence.

He does still fly to the top of the hammock.

Do you find it as funny as I do how afraid they are of SMALL birds? My poor giant wimpy boy...

Have a blessed day doesnt bother me at all. It makes me happy when people say that to me. I think it is more of a southern kind of thing. I never hear it from anyone from the north... I say this to a lot of people and a lot of people say it back to me.

does it bother anyone when someone says " bless you" when you sneeze? It is basically the same concept.

I have been trying sooo hard not to comment on this thread.

I guess I have no self control.

I do not understand how anyone could be offended by a comment as well intended as, "Have a blessed day". It seems to me that if you are secure in your own beliefs, someone else expressing their's would not offend. It is not that difficult to respect others, even if you disagree with them.
