And about the bees....not all bee species have stingers. So perhaps the behavior originated with stingless bees, but the species we call the "honey bee" was the only species amenable to domestication...and also happened to have stingers.

Now this is going way off topic, but I want to share a really fascinating book by Jared Diamond called "Guns, Germs and Steel" that chronicled how available species for domestication affected societies and their ultimate advancement across time. There's also a DVD available. Perhaps you can be "blessed" with both the next time someone buys you presents.

Actually, I've often wondered about the first guy who saw a calf nursing from a cow and thought, "Gee, I bet that would taste great!"

But, yeah, I've never really been a joiner on the expected or correct way to be. I've not really marched to the beat of a different drummer, I really never marched to a drum at all....I prefer bagpipes!

My sister says that I not only march to the beat of my own drummer, I have an entire percussion section I am marching to!

I'm with you though. I just can't seem to act "normal". Oh well. My way seems a lot more fun.

I do question though how some foods were ever originally considered edible. I bet for a lot of them there was alcohol involved. "Hey, y'all... hold my beer and watch this!"

I have no problem with "have a blessed day". If someone wants to tell me they hope my day goes well, then I'm not going to get all worked up over how they phrase things. I think that is silly.
