Can anyone yell "OUCH!!!!"

I'd have to be desparate indeed to nurse any livestock...they have big TEETH!!!

The thing about eggs reminds me of a memorable line in the Fried Green Tomatoes movie......

Then I think we definitely need to be saying bless you when somebody else in the room passes gas because I know for a fact I die for way longer then a split nano second when my 17 year old son slips the ole 'silent but deadly' one then leaves the room laughing! Everybody else leaves the room at top speed and NOT laughing!

Ok, sorry for veering back to previously discussed, semi off topic item!

When you live off subsistence agriculture, the loss of a baby animal because it's mother can't (or won't) is too much of a cost to the family to NOT deal with the discomfort. The cultures I'm thinking of off the top of my head are in New Guinea, and they will nurse baby piglets if need be.

And about the bees....not all bee species have stingers. So perhaps the behavior originated with stingless bees, but the species we call the "honey bee" was the only species amenable to domestication...and also happened to have stingers.

Now this is going way off topic, but I want to share a really fascinating book by Jared Diamond called "Guns, Germs and Steel" that chronicled how available species for domestication affected societies and their ultimate advancement across time. There's also a DVD available. Perhaps you can be "blessed" with both the next time someone buys you presents.

See? I brought us back on topic.

By this train of thought it is a wonder anyone ever ate an egg or drank milk. Have you seen where that stuff comes from?!!

Actually, I've often wondered about the first guy who saw a calf nursing from a cow and thought, "Gee, I bet that would taste great!"

But, yeah, I've never really been a joiner on the expected or correct way to be. I've not really marched to the beat of a different drummer, I really never marched to a drum at all....I prefer bagpipes!

My sister says that I not only march to the beat of my own drummer, I have an entire percussion section I am marching to!

I'm with you though. I just can't seem to act "normal". Oh well. My way seems a lot more fun.

I do question though how some foods were ever originally considered edible. I bet for a lot of them there was alcohol involved. "Hey, y'all... hold my beer and watch this!"

Wait, okay, let me get this straight - you're annoyed by someone wishing the best for you? This takes "easily offended" to a whole new level. Why on Earth would you be annoyed by someone saying that if they're not pushing their religion? I wouldn't be offended if I were told that by a Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, whatever - in something like this, it's the intention that matters.

That post was from a few days ago, and we already discussed the importance of intention behind a message.
