Have Any Of You Guys Used This Humidity Controler?

It must be a new thing on the market. If I needed auto humidity control I,d probably buy it since Zoo-Med has a good reputation with me so far.

I have a ReptiTemp 500R thermostat by zoo- med in fact I have 2. The best thermostats I ever used. It will keep steady temperature in any bator, could be used as a safety back-up cut-off (second thermostat in a bator ). Has a probe, easy adjustable dial for only around $25.00.

And for those not very familiar with home made electric circuits THERE IS NO WIRING NECESSARY!.

You simply plug it in to 110V outlet, plug the bator to its output, insert the temperature probe into your bator set the dial for wanted temperature and THIS IS IT.

True plug-and-play temperature control for whatever device tou want to use.

You can not buy replacement thermostat for a styrobator that cheap and this thing beats the pants off any styrobator thermostat as far as accurate temp control and ease of use.

I am using one ReptiTemp 500R in my homemade cabinet bator, and a second one to control Brower Tophatch or LG both used mostly as hatchers and both known to be unstable bators.

Reptitemp makes them tick along within less than .5 F rock solid no matter what the room temp is (in my case up to 10 degree difference between day and night in my room

One can use this thermostat to built huge bator, about twice capacity of Spotsman or Dickey, since ReptiTemp 500R can handle up to 500W of power, Sportsman draws about 250 W max I believe.

IF ITS IN USE YOU SHOULD PLEANTY OF LIL FUZZY THERMOMETERS RUNNIN AROUND INSIDE IT

I DONT TEMPERATURE CONTROL MY BROODERS WITH GAUGES AND FANCY GIZMOS, I USE THE CHICKS TO TELL ME IF ITS OK. THEY ARE ALREADY PAID FOR AND DONT REQUIRE BATTERIES

Well, this country bumpkin does the same with brooders. I set the hot spot at around 100deg.F, then the chicks tell me how hot or cold they like to be. If you put a thermometer of any kind in there...they will just poop all over it!

With all the automation given to incubators....a few minuets of time should be spent watching chicks in the brooder, and adjusting the temps to suit them. Probably just a "ME" thing, but it works out fine for me.
