Have you ever had a chicken you thought you wouldn’t like but it turned out to be your favorite?

My duck, Raven, was pretty plain and skittish at first. I didn't really like her, as much as I did her sisters, Monroe and Alex. Now Raven is the only one that liked to be picked up for neck rubs, lol, and absolutely adore her!

Leghorns are the best!😄
They are! Like, they’re flighty, but it doesn’t bother me. I want to get a few color varieties just to see how different they are from the white. Maybe mix them together and let them be a sorta barnyard mix? I don’t know if color varieties are kept separate like they can be in show dogs.

I just had my leghorn pass away over the weekend, and she wasn't flighty at all. She loved being around people, being held and cuddled, etc. I'm not sure I can bring myself at this point to get another one, but I love all the color varieties.:)

Is it challenging to work with him? To let him know when there’s food, treats, or when it’s time to go in for the night or is he rather used to the routine?
He is learning from watching his best friend and broodmate. Another rooster we call cotton ball. Cottonball hears the signals and goes running, peepers goes running after him XD. Though he doesn't always see cottonball go.

I have a sebright that I got in my haste to get a silkie (silkie needed a friend and this was the first paid available) I kept thinking oh gosh did i make a mistake i don't feel a connection to this bird.. but last night we had 2 major breakthroughs. She hopped up in my lap when I was outside with everyone then she jumped up on my husband later. She is super sweet and loves her people (now if I can make the big chicks like her!)
