Have you ever had an type of animal you just did NOT like?

Lovebirds. Never will I have another. Wicked, nasty, high-pitched chainsaws with feathers.

Nasty little cuss bit me to the bone. I couldn't get her out of her cage. I had her cage out on the back patio (we lived in Arizona at the time) , and I was attempting to clean her cage. I had the hose on very low flow, attempting to clean the grate, and she attacked my hand. Bit my finger so hard, I felt the impact on the bone. Pulled my hand out of the cage, bird attached and she immediately let go, flapping and squawking her fool head off. Never did see her again.

Darn wicked thing. My pinky finger got an infection in the bite and it was splinted for two weeks.

I've raised parakeets, cockatiels, senegal parrots, canaries, all kinds of small finches and hookbills. Never saw anything as mean as that lovebird. LOL

Blessings-
Em

I can't stand any of my pets, but I also can't live w/o them. I'm going to have to agree with chickbea, no children for me.

1. goats. I was attacked by a buck one time, that is it for me!

2. Chihuahuas. Um no! A neighbor of ours had one that they let roam. It peed on EVERYTHING, including people. Evil, disgusting little dog

3. lovebirds. Had one, thing was as vicious as the devil

4. Cockroaches of any kind. Was brutally surprised by them at the zoo on an outreach. In a small, inescapable, confined space. Almost quit.

5 Hamsters. kidlet brought home class pet in pre-school, hamster bit him and drew blood. Done with hamsters.

Hamsters, gerbils, and mice - yuck! I like rats, but I can't stand those other three, especially hamsters.

On the other hand I can't imagine ever living without a dog or at least a really cuddly cat.

I was well prepared...I have had goats off and on for many years. I have had Texas meat goats, Nubians, mixed briar goats and registered Boer goats through the years. Sheep are better lawnmowers than goats. Goats are browsers and sheep are grazers. Goats would totally ignore this beautiful pasture I have in favor of stripping the bark off all the trees. The sheep just calmly walk around and eat grass all day. I SO love them!!.

I agree, we were prepared, we had fully fenced and cross fenced 15+ acres of pasure, complete with a shady, cool, clean stream running through it. Paradise for most hoofed creatures. We had a variety of goats from Cashmere to pygmy and larger pygmy/nubian crosses. ALL of them were pains in the butt, what one didn't think of others did LOL. Our fences were good, we built them ourselves from lodge pole pine, sheep fencing and electric wire.

I admire those of you who have fun, easy to care for goats and my "hate" of them is really tounge-in-cheek

I like them..but only from afar..and if they belong to someone else

Rabbits. Wild ones are fine. Cannot imagine keeping them as pets.

Pheasants. The wildly colored ones just creep me out royally (((shudder))).

Why someone would want a guinea pig, hamster, chinchilla, mouse or rat as a pet is beyond me. Will pass on reptiles as pets, too.

Jack Russell Terriers. Ugly, yappy, nasty ankle biters. Don't like their looks or their personalities.

The last ones we had were boer goats. We had one that started going through the holes in the field fence when she was little (it wasn't goat fence, just regular cattle fence). She did it every single day. As she grew, it became harder and harder but she still did it. Once she was finally an adult, she still did it. It was amazing....not even possible that a goat could squeeze herself through those holes, but she did! The last straw was when she kidded....and then taught them to do it too. She was SOLD soon after. I have pipe gates that are smashed flat from the billy goats ramming it over and over. And they were not separated from the does....they did it just because they could!! And all the fences were bowed out from the goats leaning into them with their entire weight and rubbing along the entire fence. It was impossible to have nice fences with those animals. Oh...once I bought them a brand new round bale. It wasn't in that pen even 20 minutes before a goat was up on top of it, peeing!! What would possess an animal to pee all over their food. And then complain because they have no hay to eat....it smells like pee!! They were so frustrating. I really do like them, but I'll never own another one.

I'd love some! Too bad you're not closer. Why don't you like them??
I'm not a bird fan except for my chickens. I don't like birds in cages with their creepy claws and their sharp scary beaks. *shudder* Not overly fond of rabbits either. They're cute and all, but if they're indoors they're destructive as heck and outdoors they don't interact with you much. I miss my goats every single day. I don't know what kind of lawn you'd have to have to consider them lawnmowers though. Mine were weed, bark and small tree eaters.
