Have you ever injured yourself????broken bones welcome here!!

I've been so lucky. Only one broken toe when my horse stepped on it before we went in to show. I didn't know it was broken until about a week later.

My kids have never had a broken bone, just one child with stitches in the middle of her forehead after I stupidly put my t shirt on her just before I went to coach a little league game....

Out of three kids, that's not bad. Hubby has had his nose broken in fights when he was a young punk.

Sheesh, I am laid up right now with a broken foot. Was walking the dog--I was standing on a patch of ice, he decided he urgently needed to chase something, and I fell and broke my foot. DH decorated my cast and I get to go to the orthopedic surgeon next week.

When I was 2, I pulled a huge flower pot onto my head and cracked my skull. That explains a lot, doesn't it?

Had plenty of broken toes. When I was a teenager I couldn't afford many pairs of shoes, so I only had two pairs of nice school shoes--no sneakers or boots. I went everywhere in those shoes, including gym class and hiking trips, so I ended up breaking a lot of toes.

I have been through 3 plate glass windows....thank you big brother.

The first at 18 months, took off part of my scalp and I now have white hair where the scar is.
The next two times, no injuries. I have an outstanding guardian angel.

Concusion after car accident.
broken tail bone....birth of Jessica
various broken toes
Broken right ankle after trying to fly down stairs. Had the cast removed after only one week because I unexpectedly had to move and couldn't do it with a cast. It didn't heal right and I reinjured it 2 months later. It still throbs all the time.

After 3 kids, only one has had a broken bone. And NO stitches!! Caity Grace, on her 5 birthday, was playing on her bunk bed and fell/got pulled off the top and hit her arm on the dresser on the way down and broke it. She had a closed reduction that night and is good as new. (She's nine now)

It is funny you should mention this. Jessica was out wrangling chickens on Christmas day and she dislocated her right shoulder and then it popped back in, but she tore or stretched her tendon in the process. She is in a sling now and we are waiting to hear back from the orthopedic surgeon.

I have injured my left knee somehow and am in a LOT of pain. Got Xrays yesterday and am waiting to call Doc at 10 am to find out what is wrong.

Oh and, step son fell 10 feet off of doc and BY THE GRACE OF GOD landed under the doc on a 2 foot wide plank directly underneath the doc where he was standing. If he had landed on either side, he would have drowned in the marina as he was knocked unconcious. He literally had to fall in a half circle.. off the doc and then back underneath it. He broke his collar bone and doesn't remember the accident. His angel was working overtime that day.

riding 3 wheeler ATV, tree failed to move and broke left ankle, and right wrist, couple years later my dau in law fell of another ATV and when we took her to the hospital, i fell off a stool and broke my collar bone., Last week I got mad and kicked a chair, broke a toe, Things are never dull at our house:D

Here is where the fun begins! I burn my whole left arm when I was 3 with boiling pot of water. It also hit the side of my chest and my leg. I got stitches in my leg for swinging a hatchet on a wet log and skipped and right into the leg. I was sting by a stingray in my right arm. I spraned my leg over 5 time and my arm over 15. I do alot of motocross and bmxing. I shattered my wrist and never went to the hospital. It healed in a weird way where if I turn my arm it clicks over and over again. My mom thinks it disgusting HAHAHA!

Forgot to mention that when I burnt my arm I was in the newspaper.

I broke my foot 3 times, once running from a boy and stepped in a hole, 2nd trying to do a karak jump, 3rd time walking across the floor on my tip toes

I broke a rib doing a simple flip on the trampoline at school. The teacher didn't believe I was hurt my best friend snook out of class to go tell the principal. Principal suffered the wrath of my mother over my brother getting hurt in football and coach told him he was hurt and messed it up worse so the principal personally took me to the dr then called my mom.

Broke my thumb, shut the car door on my thumb.

Torn the liagments and dislocated my ankle on an ATV accident, was in a cast up to my rear end for 5 weeks then a cast from knee down for 4 weeks then a boot for 4 weeks.

Ruptured disc in neck, openning a jar of baby food. I had surgery to remove it and still have a bulging one

Torn mengese in the front and back of knee from getting up and down off of floor with step grandbaby.

I think that's it.

Hummm...let's see here.

When I was 10 I slid on our wood floor and back then (70s) we didn't have very good floors in our homes where I lived...so I got a splinter about an inch long and half an inch thick jabbed into the outer side of my right calve. I still have the scar and people often ask if it was an innoculation since the radius of it looks like one of those OLD booster shots. It hurt like NOTHING I'd ever experience before. The sensation eventually went away but the memory remains.

I have had numerous ear surgeries to correct my constantly perforated eardrum...once even had my ear, almost, completely cut off to get in there.

The following: Not for the weak at heart. Read at your own discretion. LOL! :|

I did a spiral fracture on my fibula while hiking down a hill.

Here's the story: I was walking my bike when suddenly I slipped and rolled down the hill. Half way down I put my foot out to dig into the ground for leverage. It caught a sprinkler and *snap!*. I thought a branch broke because, it DIDN'T hurt. When I got down to bottom of the hill I tred to get up and my foot was dangling off to the side in the most unnatural way. Just wobbling. (Sorry, I know this sounds gross but it gets worse!)

All the while I am thinking "I should be in EXTREME agony!" but, I was not! IN fact, I started to get a *nice high* feeling. I was STONE sober too so this was weird! (I think, adrenaline?)

So, there I am, limping on one leg trying to figure out how the heck I am going to get up the hill. I figured I can't do it with my foot the way it was so, what do I do? I start banging my foot on ground trying to get it back to *original* position. All the while I'm not hurting! I swear it

Finally, (voice of reason or common sense-I don't know?) I realize "Gee...maybe that's not such a good idea!" and stopped. Still limping on one leg trying to figure out how I am going to get over to the other side of the hill when, *snap!*, the foot goes back to it's original position.

I gingerly tried put weight on it and find that I could walk, OK. I climbed the hill, got my bike and peddled home. (Not BIG time peddling...still gingerly so...and mostly with my good foot.) All the while my foot is feeling like it wants to snap back out again.

I get home my roommate is home and we go to ER. That's when I find out it was not a sprain (as I thought

) but, a spiral fracture. (It's basically what it sounds like a spiral/corkscrew like hairline brake on bone!)

So, I had orthopedic surgery. Which meant a plate with screws on fibula, a rod clear across my ankle (I guess I ripped some tendons there too and still have the rod in there) and wore a series of casts for 3 months. I went from red, blue to green!

That was the ONLY part that was fun...the colorful casts! I know, I am weird!

I'm sure I won't be able to remember all my injuries!!

I broke my wrist after falling off my pony.

Broke my other elbow a couple years later when I was running down the street and fell.

When I was 16, I was trampled by two running horses. I was knocked out for at least 20 minutes. The neighbor found me wandering up the street. My concussion was so bad that my parents had to wake me up every hour on the hour. I didn't drive for several months because I couldn't remember how to get anywhere, and I didn't recognize my friends at school. It was several months before I felt back to "normal".

I broke both my ankles in the fire academy- one in five places and the other in four. I couldn't walk for several months.

When I was 22, I found out I have degenerative disk disease from when I was trampled at 16. I've thrown it out twice, so bad that I ended up in the hospital.

I almost cut my finger off a couple years ago. It's the only time I've had stitches! They drugged me up and my husband said I was cussing at the doctor and calling her bad names.

I broke my knee and tore my ACL and MCL riding my dirtbike. That hurt pretty bad, too! LOL

I've only ever had one broken bone (middle finger, left hand) in jr. high school.

also, knocking on wood, etc etc
My left hand seems to always take the beating.
Always injuring some body part in some stupid way on a regular basis, thus last night's post.

I was born 'dead'....took 10 minutes of resuscitation to bring me back. After that, I figure the rest of the injuries have got to be a piece of cake.
