I hatched out some chicks between the 25th and the 26th, and they some of the nicest chicks I've ever had, personality wise. One little bird in particular, we caller Donna because she was born the day before all the other chicks, and came on my mother's best friend Donna's birthday. Donna passed away in 1993, so it just felt right. If Donna turns out to be a boy, we'll call her Don Juan, lol. Anyway, Donna is the absolute most docile chick I have ever met. She is so calm, and when you hold her she doesn't fidgit, she sits still and will let you turn every which way, and she won't fight you. Well, I was laying in my bed the other day doing my homework (gotta love going back to college after having been out for 16 years), and my older daughter brings Donna over to the bed. Donna loves to come running over and lay down next to me. She/he is a very quiet baby too. Well, my kids get a kick out of "hypnotizing" the chicks, and so Katie rubbed little Donna's belly, and the baby went completely limp. Then she laid Donna down on the pillow next to me, and I pulled the blanket up to her chin and snapped this picture. I thought this was absolutely precious. It lasted all of 10 seconds, but it was priceless when it happened! I hope everyone else gets a kick out of this too!
Here is little Donna:
I just had to share. Donna is definitely turning out to be one of my favorites. I hope she stays this sweet and docile into adulthood, she'd be perfect if she did! BTW, Donna is an EE. Hatched from a blue egg too!
