Have YOU ever taken a BYC BREAK? Why?

Quote:
Me too.

But I see what you mean Chickenmaven. It's easy to get callous and frustrated with the same old questions and issues we've heard a million times. But I know for sure that if I joined BYC yesterday, I'd be asking those same old questions and having the same old issues. So how can I be too judgemental? (Only when I have PMS!!!!)

PS: Today's my three-year anniversary of joining BYC - so I'm a REAL old goat on here.

Happy Anniversary!

I got kicked off for awhile 'cause I have big mouth at times. And that's the trueth.

I'm doing better now

I usually log on once a day, but I have taken weeks-long breaks before. Sometimes it's similar to what A.T. Hagan said, it becomes a habit instead of a joy. When I log on, one of the things I do everyday is answer as many unanswered posts as I can. Sometimes I get frustrated and take a break when it seems like the unanswered posts just keep piling up, and so many of the members on here only post on the fun, entertaining threads.

But, to each their own. Everyone gets something different from BYC, and participates on the forum for different reasons. I always come back to BYC, it's a great, diverse community.

I've taken some breaks- especially from Random Ramblings. I felt I was the target of trolling on many occasions. I'm sure it wasn't "personal"- just a general dislike for liberals by a majority in this section. I try to stay in the genetics forum, but it's hot as heck today and I'm bored

Steve, that's so cool. Most of us go through stages: lurking, becoming delurked, posting a bunch, making friends and few enemies by accident, mouthing off and getting swatted by a nice Mod (it doesn't hurt TOO bad), to being an exemplary BYC Citizen.

A.T. Hagan :

I've posted to many boards over the years and once in a while I take breaks from all of them. When it begins to feel more like a duty to log-on than a pleasant place to pass the time it's time for a break.

Not there yet but i'm working on it. Still have to put the sticky note on the screen in plain view "Shut up Steve"
