the word sugar doesn't have an "h" in it?

Ok, what are your "have you ever wondered why" questions?

I always wondered how a black cow can eat green grass and make white milk that put red hair on some kid's head. Shouldn't we all have the same hair color?

Are you reading your kids homework right now?

I love figuring out what my second grader means in her stories... that's some fun stuff.

Like the other day country was something like conterour. Say huh? ooooh country.

Today she brought home a story about the worst bad dream she had goes like this:

My worst nightmare. Was about an evle rooster trying to atack me. I said help me. Now (no) one came. I ran away
and hid. The rooster walked away.

Best part was she drew a pic to go with it and the roo is about 4 inches tall and she drew herself as about an inch tall with bubble saying, "Help me!"

Do you think she needs therapy?

I was reading something science-y a few months ago, and apparently.... Hummingbirds see colors on the Ultra-Violet spectrum... colors that appear dull to us would be super saturated to them, and ones that are bright could be dull... so they might see a plain old brown as a bright purple, or red, or some other color we small humans cannot even imagine. The world they see must be a completely different one than the one we do.

Which brings me to something I've always wondered about, since I was little... We humans all have the same names for colors... but how do we know that the color we are looking at really looks the same as the same color in another persons eyes? If we saw it as a different shade, but learned the name for it to be a certain thing.. how do we know that my pink is your pink? Our eyes are built and work in the same manner.. but there are minute variations in everyones physiology (sp?)...

How important does a person have to be before they are considered
assassinated instead of just murdered?

If money doesn't grow on trees then why do banks have branches?

Since bread is square, then why is sandwich meat round?

Why does a round pizza come in a square box?

What disease did cured ham actually have?

How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a
good idea to put wheels on luggage?

Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like
every two hours?

If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing?

If you drink Pepsi at work in the Coke factory, will they fire you?

Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV?

Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars
to look at things on the ground?

How come we choose from just two people for President and fifty for Miss
America?

Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you
naked anyway.

Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze
these dangly things here, and drink whatever comes out!"

Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible
crisp, which no decent human being would eat?

If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of a coconut, why
can't he fix a hole in a boat?

Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but don't point
to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

If Wyle E. Coyote had enough money to buy all that ACME stuff, why didn't he
just buy something to eat?

Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you,
but when you take him for a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

just a few ponderisms....

Ooooh! I can answer one! After having worked with/folded a lot of pizza boxes... there is no way to make the short sides needed on a pizza box (to keep the pizza from flopping about) in a circular shape, and not sacrifice structural integrity... cardboard just wasn't made for that. Squares & Rectangles & other Squared off shapes are easier to work with and the cut out tabs needed to fold them into the proper shape (as they are shipped flat) wouldn't be possible in a circle.

And! I slept through the night the first day home from the hospital, as a baby.. and slept for very long periods all the time... Mom likes to tell me how she would have to shake me awake to show off for company.. LOL... So maybe that saying is based on perfect babies like meee?
