So I use to raise chickens in the city and never had a issue. Now I live in the country and I can't grow a bird for the life of me.

I first tried qual. Everything went good the first 2 hatches. After that my birds started dropping dead like crazy. I would put a new Batch of 100 quail out and 20 would die every night. I figured it was fireants. When I came out in the morning the live ones had puffy eyes and dead ones had ants all over them.

I gave up and went to ducks. They lived ok but were to darn messy.

Now I am back on chickens. I had 15 in a broader in my shed. 3 looked to get splayed leg. I also so mice in the shed. I added more bedding and moved them inside. after a few days all of them were having issues walking. They would just lay there. Than their necks started to get deformed like twisted back or to the side. They would than end up on their backs and die. Any ideas??

Thanks for the feed back

Yes they had a heat lamp in the shed. I am feeding them the standard chick feed you buy at tractor supply. Same stuff I have used on all my birds.... 2 of the 15 lived and are doing a lot better however deformed still eating the feed. I was thinking it was some type of virus or something

Agreeing with Ol Grey Mare & annmjensen, vitamin deficiency/wry neck ...
Vitamin E 400IU & Selenium 25mcg 2 - 3x day, NutriDrench, Thiamine/Vit B1, beef liver, nuts, spinach, tuna, salmon, fortified cereals, boiled egg yolk or scrambled eggs

What kind of feed; Scratch? All Purpose? Flock Raiser?
