Good point. They love cooked rice so I will give that a try.

Good that she's walking around. Any special treats that might tempt her to eat? My girls never say no to a piece of bread.

She is still not doing well and I don't know if she is eating and drinking. I was able to give her some water out of a cup, and she drank quite a bit so she must have been thirsty. She didn't eat anything I offered her and I tried bread, rice, lettuce. She doesn't seem to move around much, but she is standing up at least. I am worried she is not getting any food and I was wondering if there is anything liquid I could give her that has nutrients that is safe for her?

She is still not doing well, and I don't know if she is eating or drinking herself since it looks like she stays in one location and doesn't move around a lot. When I hold a glass of water up to her she will drink it, and she drank quite a bit yesterday so I assume she must have been thirsty. I tried giving her food (bread, cooked rice, lettuce), but she didn't want anything. Is there any kind of liquid that has nutrition in it that I could try giving her?
Maybe she got some brain damage...

I didn't see her eat anything, so I got some powder formula at the pet store that I mixed with water and gave her. She ate quite a bit, but I am not sure if she is eating on her own. I am not sure how long I can keep up feeding her morning and evening from a bowl...

I wish chickens could talk. She must have some unseen injuries? Do what you can. She's hanging on- that's good. It took a week in my basement for my roo to recover. I had lost a hen to some strange illness. I wasn't able to care for her to the degree that she needed because I had to go back to work. NEVER feel bad for trying. You're doing great so far. Just do your best.

I would think that if she had internal damages that she would have died by now, but I am not sure. I called the local Agway to see if they had any advice. They said that they sometimes go into this shock mode and sometimes they come out of it and sometimes they don't. I guess I just have to wait and see. She seems fairly strong and flap her wings when I pick her up, so that's a good sign. However, I hope she gets her appetite back soon.
