Hawk attack!

Some were already taken or else they would have been 60+ chickens here. Some of the BO hens are a little over 3, the same goes for the RIR hens and rooster. The newer BO and RIR hens are only a little over a year. The newest addition are my 2 roosters (1BO [Roo-Roo] and the other is a EE [Boo] who are only around 3 1/2 months old).

That's crazy. Nature really can be cruel sometimes:(

That she can especially when the friendlier BO got taken late last year by that flying predator!!!! I wanted to do away with that flying predator and I didn't give a hoot if I got into trouble. Her name was "Buffy", you could pick her up and carry her. She would even use her beak to knock on the screen door on the front porch to be let in but of course she wasn't allowed in the house.

Aw, I can't imagine my Squeak being taken away. She sounds like she was an amazing chicken :)

Oh she was but the way we found out she was one of the friendlier ones is even more hilarious. An Uncle of mine was fixing a vehicle so he was laying on the ground under it and she would go over to him, pull on a strand if his hair then use her beak to dislodge the baseball cap he had on. He had to stop working on the vehicle, get out from under it, stand up and go to the back end of another vehicle, find the package of crackers, give her a couple ( more like 4) then he would go back to working on the vehicle until she did it again which after the third time he brought her into the house, handed her to me and said do something with her she's bugging me and I can't get no work done which the property owner said get that chicken out of the house- NO chickens allowed in. So of course, I took her back outside and she attempted to follow me back in until I fed her a couple more crackers. She was smart also seeing how she got into the back end of that other vehicle and found where the crackers were hidden!!!! Well, she was content just sitting in the back of that vehicle with her crackers. That wasn't the day she got taken though, on that day I was here all by myself and had ran over to check on my elderly neighbor so I found Buffy when I came back from my visit.

How cute!!! I love funny chicken stories  It's such a shame she was taken, though. Chickens really do end up being close to the heart :hugs
