Hawk attack

No. You would just have to try it and see how far apart the wires/rope is. You would want to make sure it is close enough at the fence so a bird's wingspan wouldn't be able to get through. I think most birds would see that and not try it for fear of getting trapped. Trial and error I imagine. I can ask him and see what he says.
This female Coopers came thru a 14" square opening and I watched her escape thru the same hole. She left behind a still live ripped open 4 lb hen. Putting the wire/rope up would be easiest for me but seeing what this bird can do I am terrified to give her a chance now. My thought is the rope/wire would have to be spaced no wider than 8"(for a smaller Coopers) because she very gracefully went thru the 14" opening.

I have a crow call. (Yes they exist) and I like to use it to keep crows in the area because they are a natural enemy to the Hawks and such.

THIS sounds like a plan, too. I will investigate cost.Altho I would think crows are attacked by this particular hawk because shes taken down 6 lb hen.

great Pyrenees and Anatolian shepherds are great for fending off predators. Especially at night

Wow. We have big hawks and owls around here. It is very frustrating to try to do everything you can to care for your chickens and still get victimized. Here's what my neighbor said that he did:

From the post in the center of the pen to the perimeter fence posts which are about 8 feet apart. The pens are about 30'x 40' in size.
