Hawk deterrant?

I have 2 border collie/pyrenees crosses. The female acts and looks more border collie (my avatar). I had to sit out in the yard with her and the chickens every day for a couple weeks when she was a puppy. It was hard for her to not lay the stare on them and chase. She did learn restraint. Even if the pups aren't exactly members of the flock, they will still love to get after the varmints. Oh, I vote Leige Fighter rooster to keep away the hawks, cuz I just want one.

I’m my, that’s a GORGEOUS DOG!!
I estimate a rooster in my garden would communicate with no less that 300 neighbors due to the shape of the land and where we sit. I’d be wildly unpopular, me and my rooster.

Thank you! She thinks she is a lap dog, lol, likes for me to hold her. I want a rooster, I have 19 hens. I do have one little game stag, a spangled butcher, but he hasn't started crowing yet. One of my neighbors has a rooster, but you don't hear him too much. They must keep him up. I am afraid of how a rooster will go over with the neighbors, but I'm intent on giving it a go. I wish there weren't such a stigma associated with roosters, the dogs in my area make far more noise.
