Hawk in my coop right now!

I tried calling wildlife and was given the runaround, so I ended up entering the coop and tossing a towel over it (which seemed to calm it down). Then I scooped it up inside the towel put it in a dog crate and relocated it to the nearby mountains. I released it and it was on its way. Not sure I recommend that approach, but it seemed to work.

My hen is fine. We got an antiseptic spray, sprayed her wounds every morning, and after a few days they closed up. She lost a little weight, but kept laying through the whole ordeal. She's back with the rest of the flock now and seems fine. Chickens are tough I guess.

Glad to hear your girl is ok now. Wow, that must have been one crazy experience!

You are alot nicer than I would have been. Be on the lookout because they have a pretty well developed homing instinct and it will likely be back in your neighborhood although you probably made it's chicken coop experience unpleasant enough. It is a coopers hawk I believe.
