hawks everywhere!

Yup vultures--looking for goodies. The only time you'd see that many hawks in one place would be when they were migrating and then it would have to be where they were picking up air currents. Also they would be gone in less than a day.

Much as I hate the crows, they chase away the hawks. I have been throwing out leftover deer corn to encourage the crows to hang around. Don't know if that's an option where you are. Yours look more like buzzards to me but I would need a closer look to be sure. Good Luck!

while i started the vulture thing, i have seen that many hawks in one place before. granted it was a wheat field that was being harvested at the time and rats were running everywhere, but i have seen it happen. so could be hawks.

YIKES, I would freak out , if I saw them big birds , hawks or buzzards--- I would put my Lilly on patrol ( German Shepherd ) ... she allows NOTHING near " her" flock

The best advice I would give anyone who's property is experiencing the massive flyovers as depicted in the photo would be to not take naps in your yard.

im in NC.. i also have my GSD on patrol, but sometimes shes busy sunbathing

well the field across the road is farmed, so i figured looking for mice and whatnot, but the field next to me is not, and we have the horses on most of it. luckily i havent had them attempt anything. if they are turkey vultures, do i need to worry?
i wish i had binoculars, they dont look to have a bald head, doesnt a turkey vulture have the bald head? i have seen those, and they are HUGE. these are big but i cant tell if they have the bald heads tho, i dont think so. they dont have big bodies, mostly wing span makes up their size, so i wonder if i need to worry, my chickens (besides banties) are bigger in body than those birds..
i saw/heard a smaller hawk looking bird fly over, screatching, and it was lighter in color.. what could that have been?
these bird birds in the photos dont seem to make any noise, but i do hear "hawk hawk" sometimes, but dont crows make that noise too?

i should do some research on birds in my area.
