Here in the Bluegrass of Kentucky, I pay $6.00/bale for wire tied alfalfa, those bales being about 65 lbs. and I contracted 3000 bales for this year. Straw is $3.25/bale, but again I contracted alot. Both prices are delivered and stacked in my barns. We go through 100 bales of hay/week in breeding season, and I don't even know how much straw during foaling.
On a brighter note, the price of feed has gone down each week for the past four weeks.
