Hay - What are you paying per ton?

A 50# bale of Timothy is $17 - $20 ..a bale of Alfalfa is about a $1 cheaper ....but I'm in the city limit, so that could have an impact. Fortunately, I'm only feeding 7 Cavies, a Chinchilla ..and my Chickens ..who "play" in it

Wow...I couldn't have animals if my hay was that expensive.
The prices did go up here because gas was so high when the haying was done this year.
Big rounds of timothy are $25-$35 here. Small square bales of timothy are $3.50 vs $2.00 last year. And my supplier is sitting on a barn load of alfalfa because he wants $5.00 a small bale for it and not many are willing to pay that.
I do feel bad for the hay farmers because they paid out a lot more for gas last year and are trying to recoop their expenses.
