HCG???? Any success???? Any not so much success????

Mrs Turbo, yes you can buy it online everywhere!!!!

rubyrogue, the people I work with are using a plan where after the 40 days of hcg and 500 cal they are still on a pretty carb restricted eating plan for another 4-6 weeks I think. And congrats on your 15lbs.

And I do think you are right, even if it works as described, you still can't eat the way that made you overweight to begin with.

Check out youtube "HCG Diet vlog"..lots of peoples diet vlogs.... its shows how they do or dont lose weight on it...

I guess I'm highly suspicious of a diet with hormones. I think the weight loss is due to 500 calories a day for 40 days rather than from the hormone. I refused to take hormones for pregnancy prevention, I wouldn't take hormones/steriods for muscle development, why would I take hormones for weight loss? I figure that bodies make these agents for very specific reasons, and they don't really belong in my body otherwise. But that's just me. I did need hormones to get the kids delivered, and I wouldn't really recommend an induced labor to anyone...again just my opinion.

I know someone who did the HCG diet, she DID lose weight... but i think it was the low carb/calories that did it....
never know though....cause she DID lose weight...

I know the extreme low calorie/carb thing is a great factor in the weight loss, but what I think they SAY about the hcg is it both keeps a person from feeling so hungry on the low calories, and it helps the body to release the stored fat, and use it. Just repeating what is said, don't know this myself. I'm thinking I'm going to try. I already have really good eating habits, but can't seem to lose the last 20 lbs.

hormone or not, ANYONE would lose weight on a 500 calorie a day diet. It's almost like starving.

I have a patient that did it twice. She is super skinny now.

I don't believe it's a healthy way to lose weight.

There is one guy in particular I work w/ that has lost over 120 lbs over the past year this way. He has done the Hcg w/ the 500 cal for one month at a time then followed a low carb, healthy carb, fat, protien plan for the recovery period which I believe is a couple of months, then back to the Hcg. All of his lab tests are excellent, he has remained active, looks healthy and has had no ill effects to date.

I too was extremely vocally negative when I first heard about it, but it is very hard to continue to be negative when 10+ people I see on a daily/weekly basis are being successful w/o ill effects. There have also been those that did not stick w/ it, and those that went back to bad eating habits after and gained it all back.

W/ my current eating/exercise ways I do not lose weight well, but maintain well, so my thinking is if I can get the weight off like this in roughly a month, w/ a definate end in sight, that I will be able to maintain the loss after that.

We considered HCG for my husband, but we have a friend that started Herbalife in November 2009 and in 13 months he has lost 200 pounds. We started it last week and in this first week I lost 2 pounds (I have about 25 to lose) and my husband lost 14 1/2 pounds. You do their protein shakes for 2 meals and eat a balanced meal for your third, and you can have protein snacks throughout the day. They also have supplements you take that help you not feel hungry. It really has been quite easy, and satisfying. If you would like more information you can PM and I will send you a link for more info.

Well I took the plunge today and started the Hcg. I don't have huge amounts to lose, just about 20-25 lbs. I have taken all my measurements today just before starting, and while I won't post those I will post what I do lose (if any) in lbs and inches. I will also post any comments about how easy or hard, or any side effects I notice.

The first two days are called fat loading days, it is important to get enough available fat in the system prior to the theraputic levels of Hcg, if you don't the first week will be very uncomfortable (so they say) in that you will feel extreme physical hunger (not just psychological hunger). They say the first day is great eating all the "forbidden" foods, but by the second day you are having to force yourself to eat it. We will see.

Listen,PEOPLE< PLEASE!!!
Diets don't work.
The NORMAL human needs around 2000 Kcalories to maintain weight...
NORMAL means they take exercise three times a week for at least 30 to 45 minutes.... and they don't plop infront of the TV for 6 hours at a time. (watching the biggest looser)
30 to 45 minutes of EXERCISE means EXERCISE not 5 min of exercise followed by hobknobbing by the water cooler at LA fitness for 20 min followed by a vigarous walk to Jamba Juice for a smoothie.

When you drop to a 500 Kcal diet your body will go nutz. Throw in a batch of hormones (that , by the way, are probably NOT perscribed by an M.D.) and you have a dangerous situation.

If you want to loose weight, I will 100% garontee that if you go to a 1300 Kcal diet and exercise for 45 min every other day YOU WILL LOOSE WEIGHT in a SAFE manor. Safe is 1 to 2 pounds per week. NOT per day.

Check out the statistics...rapid weight loss is dangerous and usually the person will gain it all back +10%.

How many times have DRs said to people, "You have to loose 100lb before I can perform a gastric bypass" then they loose it-get the operation-loose weight---then gain it all back within a year....
Why on gods green earth if someone can loose 100lb in the first place...why oh why can't they just keep loosing another 100lb? 200lb? more?

magic pills and fad diets don't work. Eat right, exercise and you'll loose weight and be healthy.
Want a killer bod? sweat for it.
