he died but thanks for your help everyone

I did what you said in your pm peepsnbunnies, but in case someone else ever encounters this problem then I will share what you said.
Mix the electrolytes with some of the layer mash and make a soupy mix. Then dribble tat on his beak so that he gets some nutrition in him as well as electolytes.

I did that but now another problem arrises: his comb is now purple. Someone asked in the beggining of this thread if his comb or wattles were purple. Well his comb is, is that a problem?

I'm so sorry - purple comb - not good. Try editing your title line to something like "URGENT - PLEASE HELP - PURPLE COMB" and hopefully those with expertise in this area will see it.

Kurt, I just created a thread with a title that depicts more specific info about your roo - hopefully someone with experience in this will see it and be in touch shortly.

Thread title is: URGENT - PURPLE COMB - VERY SICK ROO -

JJ

If his comb is purple, his circulation is down.
That coupled with the former gasping for air makes me think he may have a respiratory illness.
Has he coughed or sneezed?

Any dicharge from the eyes or nose?

are you giving the roo any antibiotic?

it's bad for a chicken to be down..it interferes with the breathing and the heart..which could the cause of the purple comb.
he needs to get some meds and get him up in a hammock or sling..

if it's respiratory, this roo needs either Tylan or Baytril..
or erythromycin..
if you have none of those, and can't get them..ask your Mom if there are any antibiotics in the house..such as amoxicillin..
he also needs more nutrition..

is the neck still bent?

kurt, please recap the situation and describe what and how much he is eating etc... sick birds will often stop eating and drinking sufficiently. Put electrolytes in the waterer, if you have no other vitamins then five three drops of polyvisol a day for a week and taper off the next.
What has this bird been eating in the past as feed?
Ditto the antibiotic advice given by sammi... (you cannot mix electrolytes with antibiotics tho in the waterer)
