UGH My light Brahma chick has been my "bully" from day one! His favorite target has been my female sultan chick. Well today I put the 4 week bantam chicks in the dog crate and put it in the chicken coop to start getting my hens use to the younger chicks.. While watching him go up and peck repeatedly EVERY chick in the dog cage I decided its time for him to be put in his place... So I took his but out and just put him in the with older girls..

So Im sitting there waiting on the girls to start pecking and picking on him. His little mean butt starts CHASING and pecking/lunging at the older hens.. I mean he looked like one of those fighting rooster when they throw up their neck feathers.. Over a 20 minute period I released everyone else into the coop with the older girls.. He spent the rest of the time running, pecking, and just all out going out of his way to be mean to the other chicks.. I mean he would sprint across the coop just to flog another chick!

Im DONE, his butt has to go.. I was going to list him on craigslist, but honestly Im considering just culling him. Hes such a bully Im nervous about giving him to someone, AND HES ONLY 4 WEEKS OLD!!!.. Oh and I wanted to mention he doesn't just limit himself to chickens, when I go to pick him up he doesn't peck me he GRABS my fingers and then SHAKES his head with my finger in his mouth..

So would you rehome or cull a chick like this???

I've kept little buggers like that only to be chased -flogged-and bitten. Luckily those were all bantams-but I culled them all....Im sorry~

Wow. I say cull. He could be dangerous especially since Brahmas are rather large(Males are around 12 pounds when grown). I certainly wouldn't want a 12 pound bird attacking me.

By the way, the sultan in your profile picture/icon is adorable!! I have tow sultan pullets. I love them so much. xD

So sorry to hear you got such a meanie. I was thinking the same thing as y'all... and if he's this bad at such a young age, imagine when he's 10 pounds and has 2 inch spurs on his legs! I'd say put him off in a pen by himself, fatten him up, and call him Kung Pao.

I think I am just going to cull him this evening. I hate to, but I really do feel hes going to only get worse..

LeaderStorm - The girl in my avatar is his number 1 target!! Shes sooo sweet and such a talker.. If Im out and she sees me and cant get to me she wil do this churp sound.. Love her!! My male Sultan sticks right by her side! He is the ONLY roo im keeping
