My screen always blows it up so large I can't see the right side of any pic. But I agree that I think those were looking like pointy saddles hanging that I could barely make out.

Cockerel, fairly sure. I can see saddle feathers and darker red patches on the wing.

Very male looking. Yes, some take quite a while to get their sex feathers in.

Here's a better pic if his tail end....i think i see saddle feathers too, now that I really look.

Guess he's just a late bloomer and will man-up when he's good and ready. Lol...dont want chicks till spring anyway!!
