Is there anyway to sex a Black copper maran chick other than 'time will tell"?
If that is the case at what age can you start to tell, what characteristics should I be looking for?

Vent sexing by an experienced sexer can be used at hatch. Beyond that it's a matter of addressing various characteristics in relation to age with gender being pretty apparent by 6-8 weeks, this being easier the more experienced you are at "reading" the signs

The earliest you could probably tell would be about 5-6 weeks.... By this time you should be able to see a difference in the feathers it is developing.

Post a pic in a couple weeks. The way that I can tell the earliest is if it is a roo, it will start growing a comb. I usually can tell by that before feathers. He/she is very cute!
