Heads up ... Privacy issue to check out

Well, I can't remove myself as it won't come up but I don't really care about that.

HOWEVER, MY DAUGHTER IS SPECIAL NEEDS AND IT HAD HER ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER. I did manage to get her removed and sent them an email and told them what I thought about their site. She should at least be able to live in peace without someone trying to find her or worse finding her. It is this kind of thing they should not be allowed to post on there for anyone to see.

Also, all my info from where I lived the last 10 years was on there.....an old phone book would show that.

I don't care if they start emailing me.....I have a delete button that works quite well. Oh, and a junk button.

If you visit that website, they will probably add cookies or links to get your personal info. I can see where this might be worriesome for some, but it doesn't bother me soo much, besides your popular sites like FB are just as bad if not worse.

Wow, my whole family, mom, sisters, their kids and husbands. i was on there three times, showing my work address, home address, and our farm address.

I mean really, how they compiled all the information is a bit scary -- showing age, marital status, income -- yea, a bit scary.

i plan to show my whole family so they can make the decision to remove or keep it.

Some posted on here that the info is out there -- it would almost be like fighting the infamous losing battle to try and remove it from the net.

you can even see a satellite image of the address.

Amazing isn't it? Obviously all that info is out there for anyone to access. They just put it all together and make it easy. Makes you wonder why people care so much about a national ID card or consolidating medical records.

I just went there. It's a cool site. Found some old friends I haven't seen in years. I'm going to have my name deleted though. I have some old mob connections and I don't want to take any chances. No concrete shoes for me.

This is at the bottom of the Snopes report:

NOTE: By running some trials with Spokeo, we've found that: · The information returned to paying customers through Spokeo searches is not very detailed and is often inaccurate.· Our repeated trials with requesting the blocking of a particular record through Spokeo's privacy page have found the procedure to be highly questionable: no attempt is made to verify that the person requesting the blocking of a record is the person identified by that record, our efforts have never resulted in a successfully blocked record, and Spokeo's customer service group has not responded to any inquiries. All of this has led some to speculate that one of Spokeo's core businesses is actually the collecting of e-mail addresses.

Don’t worry about Spokeo.com for privacy issues, the hardcore stalkers and serial killers all use links to the GPS system that tracks the RFID chips you’ve got implanted. If you’re wearing your Tinfoil hat to foil the RFID tracking, that’s no problem, they just use the CCD policestate cameras with recognition software to track your movements. Barring that, the ID strip in your money and credit/debit cards lets them know where you’re at. And yes, I’ve turned on your webcam remotely, and I must say I really like your fuzzy pink bunny slippers, I have a pair just like them.
