Health issues with new chicks

Hey y'all..

....I just a baby chick approx. 1-2 days old with an enlarged foot. The person I got it from said it was hatched that way. What could cause this, and how do you treat it?

She's a pretty little pullet, and I really want her to grow up with the others we got with her.

Any suggestions or advise is welcome. BTW her foot goes through periods of extreme cold to the touch, and she occcasionally pecks at it.

That sounds really bad. I'm not sure it was hatched that way. Try to post this in the "Emergencies, Diseases, Cures" Forum and you might get some answers. That doesn't sound healthy at all.

Thanks Chiko......the chick is eating and drinking well, and has an odd little hop that gets her around. I named her Peggy.

Afraid I didn't get any pics of her. Peggy died on Friday, but really gave it a go. She will be missed, but has a friend,(Rosie) who passed around the same time. They are both playing in the forever fields now.
