Hello! We keep a 4 year old female flemish giant with our chickens. She's been with them for about 1 1/2 years. She has her own hutch in the run, but spends most of her free time hanging around in the chicken coop. Our chickens have a huge fenced in area (between 1/8-1/4 of an acre) to free range, so the rabbit also wanders around as well.

Questions:

* I routinely worm and dust my chickens (they've had lice & mites at different times). Should I be doing the same with the rabbit? If so, what should I use?

* The rabbit eats the chicken food - almost exclusively. Is this a problem? (She has rabbit food available but turns her nose up at it unless she can't get to the chicken food.)

Thanks!

If you see lice or mites on the rabbit, then dust. If the rabbit has lice, rest assured they are not from the chickens.
